Rebecca McKelvey Castaeda works in the firm’s Nashville and Franklin offices. She practices exclusively in the field of Family Law, with a focus on international family law, particularly parental child abductions from one country to another.

She has extensive experience with cases brought under the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction and the International Child Abduction Remedies Act of 1980. This Hague treaty was signed by the United States, along with 73 other countries.

Rebecca’s published work on the Hague Convention, An Overview of the Hague Convention’s International Parental Child Abduction Provisions, 7 ANKARA L. REV. 1, 65 (2010), is available upon request. Rebecca and her team have extensive experience in Hague Convention litigation and can assist your family in navigating these challenging international issues.

Rebecca represents clients in Tennessee family law in addition to international family law. Her practice includes many years of representing clients who are going through a divorce. Rebecca and her team are capable of handling intellectual property issues in divorce. She assists clients with a wide range of family law issues, including children, custody, grandparents and other family members, divorces, prenuptial agreements, and family relocations. Rebecca is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association’s editorial committee, which is in charge of updating the Tennessee Alimony Benchbook each year.
